Frequently Asked Questions
Who do you treat?
Physical therapy is for everyone. Whether you are an elite athlete, average weightlifter, or active parent, if you are limited in your ability to perform at the level you are capable of, you could benefit from performance physical therapy.
Do I need a referral from a medical doctor?
No. In Nebraska, a referral is NOT necessary to see a physical therapist. If you’ve already seen a doctor, you’re welcome to bring a referral with you.
What should I expect on my first visit?
On your first visit we will take time to discuss medical history and expectations for goals/treatment. Then a thorough physical therapy evaluation will be conducted, with a focus on the pain/limitations that brought you in. We will then develop a treatment plan specific to your goals.
What should I wear?
You can wear comfortable workout clothing. If it’s a neck or shoulder injury, please wear a tank top or clothing that can easily expose the area. For lower body, have shorts available, if possible.
Why the gym setting?
Strength builds resilience to injury. Therabands and 5 lb. weights aren’t going to correlate to your CrossFit workout, strength training session, lifting your kid off the ground, or your labor-intensive job. The gym setting allows us to work on movements specific to your goals with equipment that promotes strength.
